Not observing the guidelines especially related to sun exposure may lead to a transient but long-lasting hypo / hyperpigmentation that may last on the average 3 months.
- For Vascular Lesions it is possible to have swelling followed by redness that may subside within a few days. A good reaction would be to see an immediate darkening of the vessel and oedema surrounding the vessel.
- For Pigmented lesions, the lesion will go darker before it goes lighter. Within 2-3 weeks after your session the lesion would either start to scab and fall off – or skin will absorb the fragments. It’s important that you don’t exfoliate at home.
- For an optimally effective and safe treatment, sun exposure is to be stopped at least 3-4 weeks prior to session. One month before the session, apply high SPF sun block on the area twice a day.
- The intake of sun activators or the use of chemical self-tanning lotions is to be stopped 2 weeks prior to session.
The duration of a session varies depending on the treatment area. Smaller areas, like the upper lip, can be treated in a few minutes, while larger areas, such as the face or chest, may take longer.
